PSO and Shell expand DC fast-charging corridors on the motorways

Long-distance EV travel in Pakistan has been held back by thin motorway charging coverage. That is starting to change.

What is new

PSO and Shell have both announced new DC fast-charging sites at motorway service areas on the M2 (Lahore-Islamabad) and N5 (Karachi-Hyderabad-Multan corridor), most rated at 60-120 kW — enough to add well over 200 km of range in under 30 minutes for most EVs.

Why it matters

Until now, road-tripping an EV meant careful planning around a handful of chargers. Denser coverage means less range anxiety on the most-travelled routes, and makes EVs a realistic choice for inter-city commuters, not just city driving.

What to expect next

Expect similar rollouts on the N-5 south of Multan and the Islamabad-Peshawar motorway as networks compete for early-mover advantage. Check our charging station map for the latest locations as they go live.
