Preparing your EV for Pakistan's summer heat
Pakistani summers push EVs harder than most climates they were originally designed for. Range drops, cabins overheat, and batteries age faster without a few precautions.
Park in the shade, always
A car left in direct sun for hours can see cabin temperatures well above 60°C, which stresses the battery management system even before you start driving. Covered or shaded parking is the single best thing you can do.
Pre-cool before you unplug
If the car is still charging, use the app to pre-cool the cabin while plugged in rather than running air conditioning off the battery the moment you set off — it saves real range on hot days.
Expect lower range in peak summer
Air conditioning load and battery thermal management both eat into range during the hottest months. A 10-15 percent drop from your usual range in June-August is normal, not a fault.
Check tyre pressure more often
Heat causes tyre pressure to rise faster than usual, and EVs are heavier than equivalent petrol vehicles. Check pressures monthly through summer for even wear and predictable range.
